Welcome back our friend the Tincture!

Tinctures (aka, Hemp Extracts) are by far one of the most popular ways to enjoy CBD and historically, they were the main way we took cannabis as a medicine until it was banned in the early twentieth century. Alchemy Naturals is excited to offer a Full-Spectrum CBD Hemp Extract. Let’s bring tinctures back!

Full-Spectrum CBD Hemp Extracts are a concentrated liquid form of a plant. You can make a tincture from just about any plant, and they are used a lot in alternative medicine. They are convenient, easy to take, and potent.

What does “Full-Spectrum” Mean?

It means it’s the whole enchilada. Cannabis is chock-full of important compounds, with cannabinoids and terpenes being the most prominent. Together, they contribute to the overall effects and benefits of cannabis. Keeping these compounds intact throughout extraction is crucial to producing a product that will have the most power. Our full-spectrum oil is derived from hemp flowers and leaves, where the majority of the feel-good chemistry lives. So, when you extract cannabis to produce an oil rich in cannabinoids and terpenes, what do you get? Maybe you’ve heard of the entourage effect, which is when all of these precious compounds actually work in harmony together. That is the beauty of full-spectrum oil; extracting cannabis plants to preserve all of its riches, which in turn provides the most medicinal efficacy, as well as the most comprehensive and complete mental and physical effects. Just like coffee and chocolate, or peanut butter and jelly, it’s better as a whole than divided!

Each batch is independently lab tested, which means that in addition to containing the CBD and THC amounts we say they do (important for you, and your hard-earned cash), they also contain no residual solvents or pesticides (important for your long term health!) You can view lab results for your batch by scanning the code on the back of the package. We have high standards, and we stand by our products 100%.

Our Full-Spectrum tincture is available in a 15mL bottle at 250mg (8.3mg/serving), or 30 mL at 500mg (16.7mg/serving) or 1000mg (33.3mg/serving) strength. You can enjoy three great flavors: Blood Orange, Peppermint or Unflavored. These hemp oils do contain a hint of THC, but never more than .3% by volume.

Open mouth, lift up tongue:

Why do we take tinctures sublingually? (and isn’t that a funny word?) Sublingual means under the tongue. We take tinctures under our tongue because it allows them to work faster. Here’s why: when consumed sublingually, a tincture is absorbed through the mucous membrane under the tongue and then enters the bloodstream. Bypassing the digestive system, the tincture can make it straight to the bloodstream, rather than first having to travel through the digestive system. You get more, faster (good, yes?)

In addition to the plants, our Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract CBD Oil also contains coconut oil which is a medium-chain triglyceride oil (MCT oil) which is known to support the metabolism and heart. Fats, such as MCT oil, can also improve the bioavailability of CBD, so you don’t necessarily need to take our tinctures with food or swish it down with any other liquid unless you want to.

When to choose a Tincture:

If Squibs are a level 1, then tinctures are definitely level 2 in the world of CBD edible products. If you’ve had some experience with CBD for a while and want to see if you can get a more potent dose, try moving up to a tincture or finding a combination of the two that works for you.

Tinctures are also nice to try as a mix-in to other (non-cannabis) edibles, like smoothies, drinks, or even stirring into oatmeal or mom’s old fashioned grits (grits with some groove? It could be a thing). Just make sure you emulsify the tincture and thoroughly mix it with your food/beverage. Because it also contains MCT oil, it will stick to the sides of a glass of water – but when blended you don’t waste any on the glass.
